Samsung Galaxy S5 May Integrate Fingerprint Scanner

Samsung Galaxy S5 May Integrate Fingerprint Scanner

When we get nearer to the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S5 we’re hearing an boosting amount of leaks in relation to the mobile phone, par for the course for substantial new smartphones to the market. Currently news about some Galaxy S5 cases is causing quite a few confusion as to if the phone will include a fingerprint scanner.

Presently there have been rumors for some time which the Galaxy S5 will include a fingerprint sensor, to compete with the Touch ID of which Apple unveiled on the iPhone 5S a year ago. Only yesterday we informed readers about a new report that Samsung could be using a swipe fingerprint scanner system on the S5 display screen.

Quite a few cases have cut-outs for access to controls and ports and also these cases are pretty much what you could assume, with the design catering for volume controls on the right and power on the left. Trident also confirms access via cut-outs for microphone, loudspeaker, flash unit and camera. Having said that fingerprint scanner access is not mentioned at all.

This has generated plenty of discussion and even doubts that a fingerprint scanner is coming to the phone at all. But, it is just too early to know. The case designer may have deliberately left this detail out of the description or maybe the sensor may be embedded on the front of the handset which means let’s not jump to any conclusions at this point.

Quite a few believe this throws a spanner in the works as accessories for the Galaxy S5 begin to come to light, you will find a new cell phone accessory website that has two cases for the Galaxy S5 listed, but it is not important in case there are cut-outs or not for the scanner. Although, as we said yesterday it is now claimed to be on the display so it doesn’t matter what the case is like.

For those people interested in these cases the case comes in red, blue, black or green color options and is priced at $5/ $30 while the case for Galaxy S5 comes in the same choices of colors with a price tag of $6/ $15. They are available to pre-order now. You can see more about these cases at SaleWill.

It might be exciting to hear what readers look at a possible fingerprint scanner for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Do you think all these cases throw doubt on the prospect and do you agree that it’s all rumours at this point? Is a fingerprint scanner a deal breaker for yourself for the Galaxy S5?
