Easy Set Plastic Mouse Snap Traps

Some notes about using these traps. As I say below, the bait cup can be removed from the bottom of the trap with a quarter-turn twist. Whatever you use for bait, do not let it project above the edge of the cup or get on the sides of the cup. That could allow a mouse to eat some, or all, of the bait without springing the trap, or springing it inappropriately. The traps should be placed on a flat surface either at 90 degrees to the run and an inch away from the wall or with 2 traps back to back (with the bait facing outwards) inside the run itself. Either method allows a mouse to enter the trap from any direction on the run. If used inside the house, traps should be placed about 8-10 feet apart or wherever you see the most activity. I have caught mice in surprising places when the traps are placed properly.
I have also had no success with the Provoke attractant. A combination of peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies (crushed) seems to work best. I keep the mixture pressed down into the bait cup and slightly concave so that it does not project from the top. The traps are easy to set by just squeezing the unbaited ends together, like a clothespin. The trigger should just snap into place. The nice thing about the traps is that they can give a clean kill from 3 directions, the front and either side, because of the serrated edge. It doesn't just squeeze. It grips.
I think the reason some of these traps fail to snap is because bait material gets caught in the trigger mechanism. The trigger paddle has to be kept scrupulously clean. That is why removing the cup and filling it outside the trap is important. The top of the cup should be leveled, or even dimpled, and the outside should be wiped clean before replacing it in the trap. A messy trigger area = no mice caught.
Also, be sure the trap is the proper size. There are mouse T-Rex traps and there are rat T-Rex traps. Neither one is good for the other species.
These traps provide a really quick kill for mice; but are surprisingly non-lethal to human hands. I have an aged mother who thinks nothing of sticking her fingers in an armed trap and luckily she came out with nothing more than a bruise. On the other hand, mice are dispatched so quickly, there is no time for reaction (as long as the trap is placed properly perpendicular to the wall and about an inch away from it). The saw tooth pattern grabs and holds with minimal spring tension. It is easy to dispose of the mouse with just one hand - if you don't mind actually seeing the critter as you do so.
Also, I don't remember seeing anyone mention it; but the bait cups can be removed from the bottom of the trap with a quick twist and filled to the proper level without having to work around the trigger mechanism. That makes it easy to empty stale bait and refill the cup outside of the trap proper and just replace it back inside for setting. The trap stays relatively clean of stray bait. I use a peanut butter base with a tiny bit of chocolate chip cookie stuck in it for extra attractiveness. If there is a mouse anywhere nearby, it will definitely go for the peanut-chocolate combo.
In spite of all that, I still wouldn't put these where pets or children could access them. There are enclosed bait stations that have room for these traps in them and force the mouse to approach in the correct position for a clean kill. Use those if toddlers or animals are around.
Also, these are kill traps. If you want to catch and release, consider a live trap.

Purchased this for my son for his birthday. Great Tank! Just a few things that I ran into after him/me playing with it. I noticed that it was wanting to veer off to the left when going forward and I saw that this was a complaint from someone else as well. After looking into it I noticed that there are rubber o-rings that protects the drive mechanism from dust or debris at the rear axles. This o-ring had either become dislodged while playing or was just not assembled properly from the factory. It was binding the axle causing it to make left hand turns. After removing 4 screws from underneath the tank and re-seating the o-ring properly around the axle it tracks perfect!!!! Another issue came about when the cannon stopped firing. After looking down the turret with a flashlight I noticed a small piece of plastic blocking the turret where the bb's are fed for firing. Turns out that the machine gun accessory used to decorate your tank has a ammo magazine that is not glued just pushed into place. Apparently when my son was feeding BBs it fell off the gun and right into the bb hopper. It is small enough to do so!!! I recommend gluing all the small accessories together! After disassembly of turret and dislodging the magazine it worked fine. Don't over tighten the screws when re-assembling. Great tank for the Money!!

3 Best Amazon Fire 7 Tablet Cases

Having recently purchased the new Amazon Fire tablet (2015) I was looking for a low cost case when i came across this little gem. I was thinking of buying a case for my Fire directly from Amazon but then I saw these cases. The prices are much more realistic and affordable than the ones from Amazon.
1. Cartoon Deer Flip Cover for Amazon Fire Tablet 7 Inch

I ordered the cartoon deer cover and it came in very quickly. My first impression was that it looked great and felt comfortable. The cover is plastic with a bumpy texture. The cover works as a great stand. The shell fits perfectly on the back of the tablet but I can't say that the front is perfect. The cover pushes upward somewhat when it's shut. You can see a picture of it in the attached pictures. Also, it isn't very comfortable if you fold the cover back while holding it. It feels like the front is too long so it doesn't fold correctly. It feels best holding it while having the cover hang off the side but either way, I wouldn't return it because it looks great and offers pretty good protection while being affordable. I definitely recommend this case, but just be aware that it may not be 100% perfect. Conservative styling, which I like. Sturdy. The price was right. Recommended.
2. Eiffel Tower Flip Cover for Amazon Fire Tablet 7 Inch

This is a very well made product and I love the design, it's a nice departure from your typical solid colored cases. The cut outs lineup perfectly with the Fire, and the hardshell case with the foldable cover is very sturdy and provides great coverage/protection for the tablet. The only minor negative I have is the foldable cover: because of its thickness it sometimes doesn't stay perfectly folded when supporting the tablet; to me this is not a major problem because I hardly look at it while it's being propped up. I have only had the cover for a month, but it still looks brand new. I did read other reviews saying the case doesn't turn off the Fire when it's closed (like iPads), but I believe that has to do with the design of the actual tablet. I don't find it problematic to push the sleep button. FYI, crayons wipe right off the case, toddler tested.
3. Slim Stand Case for Amazon Fire 7 inch Tablet

Wow! I love my new Slim Stand Case. I carry my Fire with me everywhere I go so I knew I need a case that would be not only attractive but durable as well. Let's face it, the inside of a woman's handbag is not for the meek of heart and TAGreat delivered in spades. I ordered the white with the black design and it's simply gorgeous! People are always interrupting me while I'm reading, asking where did I purchase my adorable case and of course, I always tell them - it's a TAGreat and I purchased it from their online store. It holds my Kindle snugly and safely and also prevents damage if its ever accidentally dropped. I'm sure that's not part of their guarantee but I discovered this little fact first hand when mine took a tumble and lived to tell the tale! It's also durable, very comfortable to hold while reading and doesn't hinder the operation of the front or rear camera. And it doesn't show dirt or stains and wipes clean easily with a damp cloth. It's absolutely perfect! I couldn't be happier with my purchase and fully intend to purchase more of these cases for my other devices. This is actually my third one! I think that's the best compliment I can give.

Amazon Fire 7" Tablet Review

After using the fire for a month I decided to up my review to 5 stars. I think this an amazing device for $50 and couldn't recommend it any higher.

There is an FAQ section to the bottom of the review since Amazon doesn't have one on the product page. These FAQs could get out of date over time so please comment if you see an error and I'll fix it.

Oh my dear, sweet $50 Fire. The iPad was my first love but the dirt cheap heart in my chest saw you and wanted you to be perfect. When I buy something I want to feel like I got a great deal and you give me that feeling. I had no idea I actually needed 6 tablets until you told me I could have all 6 for $250. The headrests in both of my cars have been prepped with tablet holders and my kids are confused as to why there are 6 identical looking gifts placed in the spot where my Christmas tree will be in 3 months. Now that I've gotten to know you I see your flaws but I can look past them. They say first impressions are important and from the moment I laid hands on you and turned on your screen I was initially disappointed. Lesson learned, don't judge a book by its cover, or in this case a cheap tablet by its less than HD screen.

My first impression is that the plastic body feels like hard cheap plastic yet it's dense and there's a nice weight to it. It's certainly a fingerprint magnet. I pressed the button on the top and the fire logo came on the screen. Immediately I was struck by two things, the contrast on screen wasn't great and the Fire logo was a little pixelated. After sitting through about 30 minutes of updates I made it to the homepage. I had built up all this excitement for a $50 wonder Fire and I wasn't going to give up just because of a pixelated splash screen. This lumpy throw pillow I'm laying my head on while I write this review probably cost $50. The Fire has to be better than a throw pillow right? Let's see what this thing has going for it.

Pros:
+ Videos and games look surprisingly good despite the less than HD resolution display. The screen is not very good for reading small text on websites and books. This is not going to replace your e-ink Kindle for reading.
+ Obviously the price. $50 for a tablet is a great price. 6 for $250 is an amazing deal. For less than the price of the cheapest iPad mini I can have 6 tablets.
+ Build quality feels decent. Amazon claims it’s twice as resistant as the iPad to breaking when dropped. That’s not saying much because my iPad shattered into a million pieces the other day when I whispered the words “You look fragile” to it.
+ Cheap Car entertainment. We like to go on road trips and my wife has been asking me to install screens and a dvd player in the back of our Tahoe for the last 3 years. This solves that problem for me. For much less than I planned on spending for a car entertainment center I can attach these tablets on the headrest of both of my cars and the kids have their movies.
+ Browsing the internet is quick, playing games and switching between screens is very responsive. Prime movies load instantly while also allowing me to skip back and forth very quickly. The Fire isn't as fast loading pages or as smooth at switching screens as my Samsung Galaxy S6 or iPad but it's good, much better than I expected.
+ Playing games is simply fantastic. I've tried Goat Simulator, Cut the rope, Kingdom Rush, Final Fantasy 4, Bloons TD 5, and a ton of free Amazon Underground Apps. Bloons TD 5 was probably the best test. Once you get to round 100 the game warns you that at some point there will be so much stuff on the screen it will be unplayable. I played up to round 115 and there was lag but I was still able to play and could have continued. The hardware is simply outstanding at this price.
+ It has an external SD card slot that let's you insert up to a 128gb micro-SD card. This is huge for my family! I call myself Heart Dad because I have a 2 year old son who has had 6 open heart surgeries. We spend a lot of time in the hospital, laying in bed trying to distract him with movies. My 16 gb iPad air only fits around 5 movies before I run out of space. Kids get bored of movies! I want a tablet with 128gb so that I can fit 32 4gb movies on it. What are my choices? Apple charges $600 for the new 128gb iPad mini. Amazon sells 128gb micro-SD class 10 cards for around $55 and 64gb cards for about $20. I decided to get the Fire with 2, 64GB cards and it cost me $90 total.
+ Amazon provides free unlimited cloud storage for photos taken with the fire.
+ The specs. 7 hour battery life. Quad-core processor, front and back cameras, 7 inch IPS 171 ppi ‘almost’ HD screen, 8gb of built in memory.
+ The fire is Kid friendly. There are a bunch of kid friendly features for limiting viewing time, playing kid friendly movies, and adding permissions to the tablet so that kids can’t accidentally buy things.
+ If you have a Fire TV, PS3, or PS4 you can “fling” movies and TV shows to your TV from the Kindle.
+ There’s a 3.5mm aux port for listening through headphones. This is perfect for road trips where both kids want to watch a different movie.
+ This is subjective but I think that the OS interface is much improved over previous versions of the Kindle Fire.
+ The Amazon ecosystem that this plugs you into (if you have prime). The new Amazon underground app store is fantastic, prime music has thousands of free songs, you have access to millions of free tv shows and movies, etc...
+ I ran some tests and found that download and upload speeds are exactly the same as my Galaxy S6 and iPhone over Wifi.

Neutral:
* It comes in 1 color, black.
* The body is smooth with no texture. I'd recommend getting a case if you've got slippery fingers like me.
* There’s a new feature called “Word Runner” that lets you read a book by showing you one word at a time in the middle of the screen for various lengths of time based on how fast you read. It slows down for more complicated words. I tested this out and I personally don’t like it, but you might. It’s certainly an interesting idea and Amazon claims it can help you read faster.
* What Amazon has done with the volume buttons is very interesting. The up and down volume buttons automatically swap as you rotate the screen so that volume up is always on top (when held sideways), and on the right (when held vertically). I've never used a tablet that does this before and it led to a funny experience the first time I went to watch a movie. It was about 1am and I accidentally mistook the volume up button for the volume down button. My wife freaked out on me, the baby started crying, and I couldn't turn it down because I kept mashing the volume up button. Never wake a sleeping baby. I hope my experience with the volume buttons will keep such terrible things from happening to you.

Cons:
- The screen is poor for reading small font. I prefer reading books with small font and browsing some websites including amazon.com using the normal non-mobile versions. When I tried this the font became very pixelated and hard to read. Increase your font size for books and browse the web using mobile sites only and the screen looks decent. Contrast on the screen is low, especially when viewed from an angle and it's also very reflective in sunlight.
- The Kindle app cannot read eBooks off the external memory card, however you can side load books onto the internal memory of the Fire. I can only assume this is a move to stop piracy or an oversight. I included this because a lot of people are complaining about this in reviews and on the internet. It personally doesn't affect me because the books I read take up a small amount of storage space and if I run out of memory I just delete the books I've read. I can always side load the books again later if I want to re-read them. Others with image heavy, large sized books will run out of internal space more quickly and need to delete their books more often.
- The Audible app does not allow you to store audio-books to the external SD card. Audible allows this on regular Android phones so I'm not sure why it doesn't work for the Fire. Audible books can be really large. This limitation means you'll only be able to store a couple audio-books on the Fire for off-line listening.
- There's no way to truly dim the screen. After dropping the brightness to the lowest setting and turning on airplane mode, the screen is much too bright for me to use in bed at night if my wife is trying to sleep. My phone gets really dim on the lowest setting but the Fire doesn't. I wonder if this is something they can fix in a software update.
- The two cameras are both mediocre quality. The front camera is a measly 2mp which is just decent enough to do 720p videos and take some pretty low quality pictures. The front facing camera is low quality VGA. It works well enough for skyping but don't expect to take any amazing selfies with it.
- The speaker is just OK. It suffices for riding in the car and playing a movie. It’s just a single channel speaker. You have to upgrade to the $99 kindle to get dolby audio and up to the $149 kindle to get two speakers.
- The built in wireless card does not support wireless AC, only N, G, and B. Wireless N is still what most people have and N is faster than most people's internet connection at this point but I feel this is still a con. Wireless AC is the immediate future of the internet and it would have been nice if the hardware supported this signal but I suppose it was probably too expensive for the hardware to support at this price point.

Honestly, I'm having a lot of fun with this tablet and my 6 year old loves it. No the screen is not HD, but my kids don't care. All they know is that I’m able to put 32 of their favorite Disney movies onto their new tablet using this external micro-SD card that slides into the side. In my opinion this is a 4 star device only because the screen resolution is mediocre and low contrast. Amazon should be applauded for giving us this hardware for only $50. If they could somehow fit a couple extra pixels in the screen this would be a 5 star tablet no questions asked.

The new $50 Fire is not the nicest tablet in the world but that’s not the point is it? It costs 8x less than my iPad and 14x less than my smart phone. You’re not buying this because you want the best tablet on the market. You’re getting this because it’s cheap and worth every penny of the $50 you'll spend on it. Great job Amazon, the Fire is most certainly the best tablet you can buy for $50. My expectations were high and you've blown them away.

FAQs

Q. How much of the 8GB internal storage space is actually available for use when I first turn on the Kindle?
A. Mine has 5.63GB. The rest is taken up by the Fire OS and required applications.

Q. I only want this for reading, is this tablet a good replacement for a regular e-ink Kindle or Kindle Paperwhite?
A. In my opinion no, here's why. The $50 kindle has a screen with 171 ppi (pixels per inch). This is actually really close to the regular Kindle which has 167 ppi but the new Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Voyage have 300 ppi. Why does that matter? Basically the higher the ppi, the clearer the text will be on your screen. The other huge advantages the Kindles have for reading are:
1) Kindles have a very long battery life (weeks vs hours for the Fire).
2) E-Ink screens look like natural ink and are much easier on your eyes for reading long periods of time because the screens are not back-lit like the Fire.
3) Kindles are much lighter and easier to handhold for hours. Kindles are 6-7oz vs 11oz for the Fire.
4) Kindles can easily be read in bright daylight unlike the fire. The Kindle Paperwhites can also be easily read at night in bed where the regular kindles need a lamp in order to see them at night.

Q. Can I download Apps, Movies, TV Shows, Photos, and Personal Videos to my external SD card?
A. Yes. By default these options are on. When you put your memory card in and download an app or a movie it should go straight to the memory card.
To turn on external memory card downloads:
1) Go to the Home tab on the Fire and click the Settings Icon (it looks like a gear).
2) Under the Device settings click "Storage".
3) Enable the options to download supported apps, movies, tv shows, photos, and personal videos to your SD card.

Q. Can I store and read books of the external SD card using the Amazon Kindle app?
A. No, unfortunately not at this time. In order to read a book using the Kindle app you need to move it to the internal memory of the Fire.

Q. Can I side-load e-books onto the internal memory of the Fire?
A. Yes.

Q. Do I need a wireless router in order to connect the Fire to the internet or does it have it's own 3G, 4G connection?
A. Yes, you need a wireless router in order to connect the Fire to the internet. You could also use a wireless hot spot if you have one. Several of the other Kindles have 3G and 4G connections. A. The Fire is comparable to other portable devices when tested using a 100MBPS connection from Cox.
I tested the Fire vs my Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6, and laptop. Here are the results after running the test on each 5 times using OOKLA.
Fire: 47.23 Mbps download, 13.46Mbps upload, 13ms ping.
Samsung Galaxy S6: 48Mbps download, 14.85Mbps upload, 10ms ping.

Q. Can I move music (.mp3s) that I've purchased from Amazon Prime Music onto the external SD card using the Prime music app?
A. No. According to reviews of the Amazon Prime music app and Amazon customer service there is a limitation at this time that prevents you from moving music you've purchased through Amazon onto the external SD card.

Q. Is the Fire tablet Bluetooth compatible for audio, i.e., external speakers?

Bought the skull pattern one for my husband and a white one for me. I like the case overall. In order to talk on the phone, I have to fold the top cover all the way around. The concern for this is that the front cover will come off from having to bend it this way. For me, my HUAWEI P9 Plus is easier to find with the case on; I don't have to frantically dig in my purse constantly to find it. I've always had to use a case with my phone, mostly for protection of the device. The case provides privacy from others also. This case was specifically made for this HUAWEI P9 Plus. To use it, you must take the back cover off of the HUAWEI P9 Plus and it clicks into the tabs on the case. I like this feature as it does not make the HUAWEI P9 Plus thicker.

I love this case! When I first got it, I was a little disappointed, since it did not close tightly, but have since adjusted to that (guess I was so used to the magnetic closure on iPad cases). I downloaded an app called "Stay Alive" so the screen does not go dark in10 seconds (kind of defeated the purpose of having the little window). One screen shows the clock and when you swipe to the left, it shows the weather info (this is the screen I use). But what I love is the fact that when I receive an email, the info regarding the email runs across the top of the screen- so I do not have to go into my email to see who the email was from (hope this makes sense!). I also love the fact that I can pick up calls (or hang up) without opening the cover. Can also talk on the phone with the cover closed. When I am on the internet for a long time, and fold the cover back, I do worry that it might not close tight again -- but I usually just place it down (with the window facing down) for a little while, and seems to be fine. The clock and weather in the window are in black and white (not color as the picture shows) which seems to bother some buyers. I am ok with that. I have also used the timer on my phone, and when it goes off, I can just dismiss it without opening the cover. I love this so much that I plan on buying another in the black (I have the white now and I know that eventually it will get dirty). This is just a great addition to a great phone (which I also LOVE). BTW-- I also love the fact that I do not have to constantly be hitting the on/off button on the side of the phone (main reason I bought it)- just open and close the cover instead. Any questions - just ask, I will be glad to answer if I can. JUST LOVE THIS CASE!!!

Just wanted to add to this review-- if you receive this case and it does not close tightly- send it back. I ended up liking this case so much I bought another in black and it closes with no problem! I can also fold the cover back without worrying that it is not going to close tightly again. Obviously the last one I received was defective. Now that I received one that closes correctly I am even more thrilled with the case!!
Again, I have to add to this review because I just updated to Lollypop (not because I wanted to , but several apps were no longer supported on JellyBean). Once I did this, the front window shows the time & date (which looks nice)-- but I can no longer swipe to the left, to get the weather, and to see incoming emails. I am so incredibly disappointed. This is what I loved about this case. Little by little I am changing my view of HUAWEI P9 Plus. No longer in love with this case!

I like the overall case design, and a stand-up portfolio type case goes well with the screen of the iPhone 7 Plus.
The cutouts are all well positioned, it's easy to work all the controls. The stand-up function works. This is basically an iPhone-sized version of the iPad portfolio case.
The iPhone 7 Plus is a big phone. This case does not add a lot of bulk, but it does add some, so bear that in mind.
The case is 'PU Leather', which apparently means it is all synthetic (PU= PolyUrethane) and resembles leather, but without any actual animal skin involved.
At an $12 price delivered, it's good to keep your expectations reasonable. This is a soft, padded, synthetic case. It won't last forever. And it is not intended to be 'extreme heavy duty' protection...portfolio style cases offer some protection against scratches, but almost no protection against drops or impacts. If you're concerned about dropping the phone, you'll want a different design of case.
Sample sent for review. I have not seen many portfolio cases so far for the iPhone 7 Plus. This one works, and performs as designed. I think it's attractive looking. For $11 delivered, it's hard to go wrong.

In the build-up to the launch of Apple's latest handsets, there were rumors that you could charge the iPhone 7 wirelessly. Unfortunately the rumors were wrong; it's not possible to do so. Well, Apple doesn't provide a way, but there is a way. Read on to find out how:

How to charge your iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus wirelessly

If the lack of official Apple tech for wireless charging leaves your blood boiling, don't be overly concerned. You're not the only one to feel this way. So if you're tired of your Android-toting, wireless charging friends constantly rubbing the fact in, here are a few ways you can charge your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus wirelessly.

The Wireless (Qi) Charging Receiver

There are many different products available that will allow you to charge your iPhone 7 wirelessly. However, for this tutorial, we'll go with this product available from TAGreat for $12.99: iPhone Wireless Charging Receiver.

Once you have the wireless charging card in your possession, insert the Lightning cable of the wireless card receiver into your iPhone 7. Now, make sure to wrap the receiver around your device. Next, if you have a case for your iPhone (non-metal) place your iPhone in it, with the receiver attached, and then place it onto the charging mat. And that's it; you can now charge your iPhone 7 wirelessly.

Other wireless charging methods

Another way to charge your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus wirelessly is to use something called a wireless charging receiver. This product is available at tagreat.com for $19.99.

To use the device, you just plug it into your iPhone 7's Lightning port and then place it on the charging pad. Unfortunately this isn't a true wireless charging solution; it's more akin to a hybrid. However, it does provide wireless charging, and it allows you to pick up your handset and use it. When you put it down, it starts charging again, all without having to use a standard charger.
There is a downside to this product; you won't be able to connect Lightning headphones and charge at the same time.

The future

At some point in the near future, it may be possible to charge an iPhone 7 with a wireless case. However, at the moment there aren't any available. When they become available, I expect them to have a Qi charging coil as you can see on the receiver above. However, they will be built into the case instead of having to wrap it around the handset, so all you would have to do is place your handset inside the case, and then place it onto the charging plate. And that's it; you'll have a less fiddly method, something that is almost identical to the real thing.
